Frequently Asked Questions
Here you'll find straightforward answers to the questions readers send us most about art, craft and AI in Sheffield's studios and galleries.
who writes for this magazine
Our pieces are written by Sheffield-based journalists and working artists, never by an AI tool. Every essay carries a named byline and a second editor's sign-off before it goes live.
how is this magazine funded
We run on reader support rather than ad placements. We do not run sponsored pieces dressed up as independent writing.
how do I suggest a topic
Use the topic field on our contact form and tell us what you want covered. An editor reads every suggestion within a week and replies either way.
what sources do you use for each essay
Most pieces rest on a direct interview, checked against local archive records and, where relevant, reader submissions. Every source is named in the piece itself.
how often do new essays get published
A new piece goes out every Thursday. The full archive stays free to read, there is no paywall on past issues.
how do you handle mistakes or corrections
Readers can flag an error for 30 days after a piece is published. Any fix is dated and explained in a public correction log rather than quietly edited away.
