Editorial Policy
Forge & Canvas exists to examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping, threatening and occasionally revitalizing human artistic practice. Our editorial choices favor depth and critical reflection over hype about any single tool or trend.
Section · 01
Sourcing
Our writers draw on interviews with practicing artists, curators and technologists, peer-reviewed research on computational creativity, museum and gallery statements, academic papers on aesthetics and copyright law, and direct hands-on testing of generative art and music tools; we avoid relying solely on press releases from AI companies without independent verification.
Section · 02
Review process
Every feature and analysis piece is read by a second editor before publication to check factual claims, confirm that quotations accurately represent an artist's or technologist's position, and ensure that technical descriptions of AI systems are not overstated or sensationalized.
Section · 03
Corrections
When an error of fact, attribution or interpretation is identified after publication, we correct the article as soon as possible and add a dated note at the bottom of the piece explaining what was changed and why, rather than silently editing the text.
